Quick & Flavorful Tofu Stir-Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cubed
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into cubes and marinate in soy sauce for 15 minutes.
  2. In a hot wok or large skillet, heat vegetable oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, and sautรฉ for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in tofu cubes and cook until they turn golden brown on all sides. Remove tofu from the wok and set aside.
  5. In the same wok, add more oil if needed, and then add broccoli, bell pepper, and carrot. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  6. Return the tofu to the wok, add hoisin sauce and vegetable broth, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve the tofu stir-fry over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
